Rook and the Ravens went down a storm at the Castle in July and then whilst on tour Bass Dave decided it was essential to film their illustrious journey " across the great divide!" See the results above!

A tribute to the two lads who arrived too late to hear Rook and the Ravens in their local - the Tap - yet made the journey down to York to see them in the Junction. Hats off To you lads! Thanks...

Okay so I couldn't get the sound right but you do get a good idea what the band looks like on a proper stage - this time at the Junction in York. Maybe someone can tell me the best way to record a live band with a camcorder so it doesn't distort all the time! Any suggestions?

Rook and the Ravens hit the road and head to the North East during November 2007- Guisborough Rock City where Don puts them on for the Sunday gig at the Tap and Spile. Despite punters asking them to turn it down during the sound check the lads turn it round and produce a stunning set to send everyone home happy and full of merriment. A cracking homecoming for John and a great introduction to the band for the crowd who were left clambering for more - Don duely obliged by immediately booking them for his next available slot on the Wednesday night slot where the true music fans attend!

This is the first number they played on the night - Alpha!

In exasperation at the poor quality of journalism displayed by Uncut in the last few months Smashed and Nicely investigate for themselves some of the excellent unsigned bands around.
This month - Rook and the Ravens. A four piece from Glossop who have been turning a few heads and ears in their direction recently. Their MySpace, as usual is a good place to start http://www.myspace.com/rookandtheravens
